Overview

Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw was founded durring the early 15th century in fall of the year 1425, by Dihn. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Dihn.

Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw was built using the conventions of Hobgoblin durring the early 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw is buildings are arranged arrounded highly ordered system of restrictive packed earth streets which form hexical paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The town's top tier civilian fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all performing the same rituals to bless and anoint buildings, streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holy symbol is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This certainly loves its god. More than it loves wealth. The town is very clearly poor. Buildings are run down in ways that are not imeadiatly obvious. The people are a bit too thin. The market is very eager to sell to newcomers, but not so eager to buy from them. There’s also a general lack of the hum and buzz of healthy industry in Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw.

Cultural Notes

The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

History

Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw lost 285 people, 234 livestock, and 23 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 201, when members of Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw's militia enacted an operation to locate a particular elites group. The operation was complicated by aggravated civilians, who cause problems for the militia for a host of reasons. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in defeat for Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Fërs Tḩídy Nêōw's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
